COMMUNICATION TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS CONCERNING THE SUMMER HAWK TUITION GRANT II PROGRAM

Dear Hawkeye Student:

I am emailing because you are eligible to use the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program for UI courses offered during the 2017 summer session.

Please be aware that there have been some changes implemented for this grant program. Some important things to know:

  1. You have until March 1, 2017, to declare your intention to use the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program this summer. The form to declare your intention to use the grant program is on your MyUI page, under the Financial Aid and Billing tab. In order to complete that form, you will need to have a general idea of the courses that you plan to take this summer. Be sure to contact your academic advisor very soon if you need help in determining what courses to take this summer.
  2. You may apply the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program to a maximum of six semester hours of UI courses this summer. There is a petition process that would allow you to apply the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program to as many as nine semester hours, if you demonstrate a specific need. Information about the petition process will be posted on the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program information page very soon (see link below).
  3. If you fill out the form declaring your intention to use the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program this summer but then change your mind, you must rescind your declaration though MyUI by May 1st, or you will not be able to use the grant in a subsequent summer.

Because this year's Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program is different than what has been offered to UI students in the past, you should carefully review the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program web page, along with the information that is included on the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant II program link on your MyUI page.
