COMMUNICATION TO ELIGIBLE STUDENTS CONCERNING THE SUMMER HAWK TUITION GRANT III PROGRAM

Dear Hawkeye Student:

I am emailing because you are eligible to use the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant III program for UI courses offered during the 2018 summer session.

Some important things to know about this grant:

  • This is the last summer the grant will be available to students.
  • This year, eligible students who wish to use the grant will not need to accept it. The grant will automatically be applied to your u-bill, as long as the courses you are enrolled in are eligible to be covered by the grant.
  • For resident students, the grant will be applied to a maximum of 6 semester hours of tuition. You will be responsible for any tuition beyond 6 semester hours, as well as all mandatory fees associated with the summer session.
  • For non-resident students, the grant will reduce up to 6 semester hours of tuition from non-resident to resident rates. You will be responsible for paying that tuition as well as all mandatory fees associated with the summer session. If you enroll in more than 6 s.h., those additional hours will be charge at the non-resident rate and you will be responsible for paying that tuition.

You should work with your advisor to see if using the grant this summer is appropriate for you. Early Registration for summer session occurs the week of March 5th-9th, and is on-going after that. If you plan to take summer courses, we strongly encourage you to see your advisor prior to that time so that you can register for summer at your assigned time during that week.

You should carefully review the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant III program web page, along with the information that is included on the Summer Hawk Tuition Grant III program link on your MyUI page.
