The UI does not issue digital copies of diplomas. Alternately, you might consider obtaining a digital/electronic copy of your official transcript. Visit Transcripts at: https://registrar.uiowa.edu/transcripts.
Alumni can also print their own degree verification by using their HawkID and password through MyUI. You can also request a degree verification through the National Student Clearinghouse at: https://registrar.uiowa.edu/verifications

Requesting a Duplicate Copy of Your Diploma
A duplicate copy of your University of Iowa diploma can be ordered by using the Online Duplicate Diploma Order Form or the Printable Duplicate Diploma Order Form.
Your name on the diploma will appear as it does on your UI student records unless you submit a name change request with the required documentation. All duplicate diplomas will have the notation "Duplicate diploma issued" with the issue date in the lower left corner. A duplicate copy of a will not be issued to former students whose University account is restricted for past due payment or in collection.
The diploma will be sent to you through USPS unless Fed Ex delivery is requested. FedEx is recommended for international delivery as USPS First Class international delivery may take 6 - 8 weeks. Fed Ex charges are billed through the University Billing Office. Cash or credit card payment cannot be accepted when ordering your replacement diploma, however, once charges have been billed, Ubill payments may be made several ways. International payments may be made using Flywire. If customers are unable to pay with Flywire, please contact University Billing Office to obtain alternative bank transfer instructions.

The production of duplicate copies of diplomas has been significantly delayed as we are working remotely and have limited access to materials, equipment and mailing services. Duplicate copies of diplomas are being produced every 2-3 weeks.
Printable Duplicate Diploma Order Form:
The Duplicate Diploma Order Form should be completed and then must be signed before a notary who will confirm your identity by signing the form and applying their notary seal. This protects your identity and the confidentiality of your student records. If you mail the form from outside the United States, and the envelope bears the international postmark, the notary requirement will be waived. All requests must bear the signature of the UI alum who is requesting the duplicate diploma as well as a current residing/mailing address.

If you are using the printable form and mailing to our office, we will only be able to receive mail when we are physically in the office, every 2-3 weeks, and will result in additional delay. Use of the Online Duplicate Diploma Form is recommended.
Requesting Notarized Copies of University of Iowa Diplomas
You must have your original University of Iowa diploma in order to obtain notarized copies. If you do not have your original diploma you must follow the instructions above to order a duplicate copy of your diploma from which notarized copies may be made.
Graduates sometimes request a duplicate/replacement diploma when a notarized copy of their diploma would serve their purposes. A notarized copy is a photocopy of an existing diploma printed on security paper, notarized, and embossed with the University of Iowa's seal. This kind of documentation is often used for licensing boards, visas, etc.
There is no charge for up to 5 notarized copies of your diploma. Notarized copies require an original, full-sized photocopy or scanned image of the original UI diploma.
