Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

The Office of the Registrar is located in 2900 University Capitol Centre (UCC) on the second floor near the parking garage.

Student Service Areas

Registrar Services

Assists students with general questions regarding registration, tuition and fees, name change, transcripts, enrollment verification, student record of consent, residency, and navigation in MyUI.

 

Commencement

Provides assistance with general commencement-related inquiries, including RSVP status, ceremony information, livestream details, program inclusion, and more.

Degree Services

Oversees degree applications, verifies completion of degree requirements, and confers degrees and awards.

Diploma Services

Provides diploma information for graduating students and guidance for alumni requesting duplicate diplomas.

Residency

Assists with residency classification and the residency application process.

Transcripts & Verifications

Offers information on obtaining transcripts for University of Iowa and closed institution students. Provides degree and enrollment verifications for purposes such as loan deferments, health insurance, and good student auto insurance.

Alumni Data Management

Maintains the academic data in the University of Iowa alumni database and serves as the university’s alumni data experts.

Faculty and Staff Services

Academic Calendar

Maintains the official academic dates for the University of Iowa.

Academic Data Management

Produces institutional, state, federal, and Iowa Board of Regents reports for the student population and responds to open records and internal data requests.

Academic Organization & Programs of Study

Manages the Program of Study and Academic Organization components of MAUI, including the creation, maintenance, and documentation of program of study and academic departments.

Classroom Scheduling

Manages and schedules the central pool of University Classrooms throughout campus. This includes coordination of classrooms for the schedule of courses, special academic events, and general maintenance and upkeep.

Course Library

Assists faculty and staff with inquiries related to the Course Library and the course approval process.

Degree Audit

Encodes degree audits using the requirements that appear in the General Catalog.

Exam Scheduling

Assists departments in creating and publishing the final exam and evening midterm exam schedules according to university policies. 

General Catalog

Publishes the official General Catalog and supports departments and units with reviewing and updating curricular information annually. 

Grades

Assists faculty and staff with managing and submitting attendance records, midterm grades, and final grades.

Imaging

Manages the scanning and digital storage of academic documents for University of Iowa students and electronic records of custodial closed institutions. 

MAUI Access

Grants MAUI access to faculty, staff, and university affiliates while ensuring compliance with FERPA regulations.

MAUI Support (reg-maui-support)

Assists faculty and staff with processes in MAUI under the registrar tab, including administrative registration, section offerings, grades, and more.

National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Access

NSC Access staff support users with National Student Clearinghouse / DegreeVerify services questions and access issues.

Sample Plans of Study

Assists faculty and staff with creating and updating multi-session plans for program of study completion.

UI FERPA

Offers assistance with FERPA regulations and guidelines, provides training, and supports IRB approval processes for campus partners.
