End of Session Class Counts

Course enrollment breakdowns by the students' primary program of study program college, classification, and enrolled credit hours at the end of the session. Report source: MAUI.

Estimated publication: Within two weeks following the end of session date.

Summary of Degrees Granted

A summary of degrees awarded for the recently completed academic year, with a running total of all academic year degree awards granted since 1847. These totals are based on awards conferred at the time of publication. Totals are not updated to include any retroactively conferred degree awards.

This report is no longer being published effective with 2025–2026.

The University of Iowa reports a wide range of institutional data insights to its governing body, the Iowa Board of Regents, which are hosted publicly on their website.

Requests for data not found in these reports may be made in the following ways.

External Data Requests

The Iowa Public Records Law, Chapter 22 of the Iowa Code, establishes that records held by government agencies are public and subject to disclosure, unless an expressed exception in the law recognizes the confidentiality of the material.

Entities outside of the University of Iowa requesting access to unpublished data may submit a Public Records request through the University of Iowa’s Office of Transparency.

Internal Data Requests

University Login Required

University of Iowa faculty and staff with data needs beyond the information published online, may fill out an Internal Student Data Request Form and our academic data team will review the request and respond as appropriate. Prior to submitting a request, departments are recommended to review their data needs with their collegiate IT staff to determine if the request can best be completed in house. Departments may also wish to explore and utilize the data solution services of the Data Analytics and Insights (DAI) team within Information Technology Services.

FERPA

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), is a federal law pertaining to the release of and access to student educational records. The law aims to protect the privacy of students’ educational records and ensure for their accuracy. The law applies to all educational institutions receiving funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.
