Subject: Reminder of Extenuating Circumstances Indicated in Textbook Panel- Summer 2018
Date: April 5, 2018
You are receiving this email as an extenuating circumstance has been listed in the Textbook panel in MAUI by a Departmental Administrator for the following Summer 2018 courses. Please be aware that both the primary instructor and departmental administrator(s) for the course(s) below are receiving this message.
The Extenuating Circumstance options include: instructor not assigned, course under development, or materials not available.
This is a reminder to contact your preferred bookstore and/or your Departmental Administrator(s) to enter the resource(s) when that information becomes available. When MAUI receives the data file from the bookstore or if a resource is entered, then the extenuating circumstance previously indicated will be automatically removed.
Some departments utilize departmental administrators to collect and place textbook orders for instructors. Others ask instructors to place their own orders. Those decisions continue to be made by the department and are not impacted by textbook and resource enhancements in MAUI/MyUI.
The Office of the Provost encourages instructors to place their textbook order by Early Registration (March 5, 2018), but in no event later than four weeks prior to the start of the semester (April 16, 2018) in which the textbook is to be used by students.
If the department or the instructor have placed a textbook or resource order with the bookstore for these courses and feel that this message was sent in error, please contact the bookstore. The contact information is listed below.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
